  • 1 lb frozen gyoza dumplings (vegan)
  • 1 lb heirloom tomatoes
  • 1 English cucumber
  • 5 scallions
  • 1 red chili pepper (optional)
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • 3 Tbsp Tamari sauce
  • 2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 23 tsp maple syrup
  • 1 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds (or crispy fried onions)

Instructions

  1. 1. Steam the frozen gyoza dumplings according to the package instructions. Once cooked, toss them in a bowl with sesame oil or water to prevent sticking.
  2. 2. In a small bowl, whisk together tamari, balsamic vinegar, and maple syrup. Pour over warm dumplings and toss gently.
  3. 3. Chop heirloom tomatoes into wedges, slice cucumber and scallions thinly, and add them to the bowl.
  4. 4. Tear fresh basil leaves over the salad and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds or crispy fried onions before serving.
