  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

  1. Prepare a large rimmed baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
  2. In a heavy-bottom saucepan over medium heat, combine butter and sugar. Stir continuously until it reaches 285°F and turns dark amber (about 35-45 minutes).
  3. Pour the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over the hot toffee; let them soften for 1-2 minutes before spreading into an even layer.
  5. Top with finely chopped pecans, gently pressing them into the chocolate.
  6. Allow to cool at room temperature for about an hour until set.
  7. Break into pieces and store in an airtight container at room temperature.
