  • 4 cups French bread
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ cup cream
  • 1/3 cup chopped pecans
  • Maple syrup (for drizzling)
  • 2 ½ Tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 Tablespoon corn starch
  • 2 Tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. Prepare the apple filling by cooking chopped apples with brown sugar, lemon juice, spices, and corn starch until softened. Set aside to cool.
  2. Soak French bread cubes in a mixture of eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla, and spices for about 15 minutes.
  3. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line muffin pans with parchment paper.
  4. Assemble by filling each cavity with soaked bread and topping with apple filling. Add pecan topping before baking.
  5. Bake for about 22-25 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
