  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (divided)
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar (divided)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 8 oz. cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 2 eggs
  • Ground cinnamon and nutmeg
  • 1/3 cup quick cooking oats
  • ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 3 Tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In one bowl, mix together flour, oats, light brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and melted butter for the topping.
  3. Toss diced apples with granulated sugar and cinnamon in another bowl.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, cream room-temperature butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, vanilla extract, and milk; mix well. Gradually incorporate dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. Fold in sweetened apples and pour half of the batter into the prepared pan. Add cream cheese mixture on top before topping with remaining batter and crisp topping.
  6. Bake for about 60 minutes or until golden brown. Cool before slicing.
